Per the 2nd link you sent I removed the Ubuntu version of Firefox and
downloaded from the Mozilla site and installed. From what Linda said
that corrected her problem. The only issue I'm having now is adding the
'Firefox' icon to the main menu item I added for it. The icon was
in /usr/share/app-install/icons/firefox.png with root:root permissions
so I copied it over to /home/chris/firefox and it now has permissions of
-rw-r--r-- 1 chris chris 7263 Nov 29 17:06 firefox.png however it still
is not accepted into the main menu item for Firefox. I'm sure the fix is
an easy one but I'm not sure what I need to do.
