14.04 upgrade problems

The best way to do this is to use whichever medium you want, disc or flash
drive, with the ISO on it and access that drive to reinstall. You'll get to
a screen where you have the option to install 14.04 (or whichever version
you're using) alongside your current OS, re-install and keep all current
data (documents, music, photos, etc.) and 3rd, the option to do a complete
erase and re-install that deletes everything. The last option, you'll have
to get all of your data back onto your computers from whatever source you
have them backed up to.
