Tony open a terminal and execute
$sudo apt-get install lubuntu-desktop
This will install lxde plus some usefull programs for this environmet.
You need to logout and choose "lubuntu" from the login page. You will see a little icon of unity and when you click on this make a choose.
This is clean and will have all your documents and programs. This is one of the bests things on GNU/Linux.
Finally read about "lxde". This enviroment is lightweight and have a lot of customizations.
The only bad there is not front end like "ubuntu-tweak" for made those changes.
Have a good day!!
Emiliano.
P.S. Sorry for top posting i'm at blackberry phone at this moment.

Subject: Xubuntu
Hi,
I installed Ubuntu 14.04 on my small (and old) Netbook. Since it had
Windows XP, I decided to put Ubuntu on it. It has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom
processor, 0.99 Gbs of RAM, and a 160 Gb Hard Drive. Obviously from
these specs, I chose the 32-bit version. It was a little slow (ok,
that's an exaggeration, it was VERY slow), but it looked nice. Now I
feel like I should have chose Xubuntu. Now, it's been about 2 months
that I've had Ubuntu and I have quite a lot of documents, programs, etc.
So, here's my question. Is there any way to switch to Xubuntu from
Ubuntu without completely wiping the whole computer? Also, Is there an
Software Center for Xubuntu?
Thanks,
Tony Psmythe
