I am running 12.04 and Firefox just upgraded to FF 29. I have been able
to print pdf's from FF with no problems. If it makes a difference I am
printing to a Samsung CLX-3160FN networked printer and and old HP
Laserjet on a print server.
I did notice that if you have multiple tabs open and try to print, the
print preview takes over the whole FF window and you cannot access your
other opened tabs until you close print preview. I had a quick look in
about:config and there is a setting for printing from print preview, but
I have not had a chance to experiment with it.
