Yes there are several free simple shh and vnc apps on google play that
allow 2 way traffic and easy file management etc.
There are also apps that turn you Android phone into a remote control
for media players / mouse touch-pad etc. I use AiO (all-in-one) remote
almost daily (superb at remote for laptop when plugged into TV for
watching video etc). All the ones I have tried have worked once set and
the setup is accompanied by good documentation and help & support if needed
