Please bottom-quote on the list.
Whereas this is good advice, that is the wrong way to do it. That
installs a specific version, which means it will never be updated. The
correct way is to install the named backport build, then it will be
updated along with the rest of the OS.
There are backport kernels for "quantal" "raring" and "saucy". Install
them by name, and the kernel metapackage will bring in the latest
build.
There are 2 ways to proceed:
[a] Try the oldest, then progressively try newer ones until it works
or...
[b] Go straight for the newest available.
I tend to go for option B these days. :¬)
