Linux is not good for Desktop

With complete honesty, yes.
I can edit documents, print, edit video, convert raw files from my
S9600, E900 and K7, edit gpx route files and configure my Garmin with
them, email, edit and compile source code, mount my home server when I'm
in a foreign country, rip CDs and play music files, get automatic
reminders by email (I wrote that one myself).... Nope, thinking hard,
but at this time there's nothing I can think of that I need to do that a
Linux desktop doesn't do.
