Sorry, I can't concur. I am currently running two Brothers, on their own
linux drivers, an HL2140 B&W laser, and a HL3170CDW. The B&W Just
Works(TM), the color I am still fine tuning the colors of although part of
it is likely the paper, photo quality laser heat compatible paper is OMG
expensive. But tell ya what, compared to the ink squirters that need $100
worth of in every 90 days just to keep the nozzles clean, I am happy as a
clam, I can send it a pix and it gets printed. None of this oh crap some
nozzles are plugged, run 2 or 3 cleaning cycles ($20 in ink wasted) & maybe
(Don't bet the farm on it) the next copy you print might be usable.
I like stuff that once configured, Just Works.
