Yes I will be specifically looking for the display problems before jumping
in. The specific bug was that the Unity HUD (heads up display) wouldn't
appear at all, even though the hardware passes the compatibility test for
3D, and often the launcher icons aren't usable. It's amazingly difficult to
use Unity when you can't see what it's doing! :-)
It's a multi-core Dell I bought used a few years back, and I'm using the
onboard video (not sure at this moment which chipsets) but I've decided if
necessary I might either buy a video card OR decide it's time to upgrade
the whole shebang.
