copy installation from vm to bare metal -> kernel modules are missing

The network card driver is still missing. Only a third of the drivers is
shown in lsmod compared to an installation from CD-ROM on the same hardware.

Where does Ubuntu detect hardware? When is it loading the drivers? In
the VM, the networkcard is detected and shown in dmesg. It's not shown
on the physical machine (in dmesg, but it is displayed in lspci).
