vpn setup

Hi List,

I run Mint 15 MATE 64bit. I've recently paid for an external vpn service
and am now having problems with it. Most irritating at present is
everytime I boot up I have to enter a password in order to bring up my
local network even, which I was NOT expecting.:( AFAIU my internal
network has nothing to do with vpn.

It has something to do with a 'ring'? whatever that is and I have to
enter the password I use for the vpn service.

is there a way to setup vpn to allow my system to boot with internal
network and not have to do this each time I boot?
