wtf? partition id 5

After a recent mistake involving grub abd dual booting, a friend has  
been left with a partition full of about 250G of mp3s and video that  
aren't apparently a know file type. Fdisk -l shows the partition type  
as 5. What is this? Is there some reasonable way to get access to the  
data on the partition? I've tried mounting it with various ext  
filesystems specified with errors.
