network manager not fitting on screen

i have a netbook with cedartrail video using 12.04.  When I open network
manager I can save any changes as the save button is off the screen.  When
i connect to an external monitor the save button is accessible.  I have the
feeling there is someway to re-start X but so far see nothing about it.
Maybe I do not know how to phrase the search inquiry.

Suggestions appreciated.
