since this seems to be buggy, try making it Type=application and use
xdg-open:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=slimp3
Type=Application
Exec=xdg-open http://summer.lochiel:9000
Icon=firefox

I suppose this could work around the issue ...
