Nothing wrong with IMAP (or POP3).  (I don't use them since I have a slow and 
unreliable Internet connection (dialup) and use a QWK-based system.)

I've never used Mutt.

The idea of use a *web browser* to read E-Mail is (IMHO) somewhat lame.
