Firefox V33.0 locking up system

Reason I suggested Cinnamon is that I had similar issues as you when I installed Gnome 3.12; since downgrading back to 3.10 they disappeared. Guess there is a reason 14.10 shipped with Gnome 3.10 instead of 3.12. ;-D
