I agree, it is odd, but according to /etc/services, it is NOT an assigned 
to a certain service port number, so it open for anybody to use.  Possibly 
for a reason similar to my web page being on port 6309, a bow to the 
Hitachi cpu that can pretend to be a moto 6809, but is quite a bit 
enhanced.
