14.04 on a XPS M1530 does not recover from standby

I'm facing the very same problem with my Samsung Laptop... Weird is that, I
have installed a remote desktop called Nomachine.com and, after recovering
from standby, I was able to type the password only from the remote session,
typing it directly at the laptop's keyboard doesn't work... Very weird...
