How long does it take for new release to be detected?

Hi!

Ubuntu 14.04 has been released roughly 6 hours ago and I still I don't see
an 'upgrade notification'! I even did a 'sudo apt-get update' and a
'do-release-upgrade', but yet the system doesn't 'find any new release'.

Why is it so?
