Yes indeed, this. A cotton bud ("q-tip" in American) is ideal. You
shouldn't need to open it.
And yes, mechanical mice are still around! I use some. As for PS/2
etc., the keyboard I'm typing on is from 1987 & the other one in main
use is from 1994. Way way better than any nasty modern ones that don't
cost as much as a low-end PC in their own right.
