I think this is the significant section, it has authorized ok but then
failed to start the session correctly.

That should be .xsession-errors, not Xsession.errors.  The fact that
it is large is suggestive of a problem.  If  you need to trim it make
sure you include the stuff at the start of the file up to the point
something seems to be going wrong.  Obviously the one to be posted is
from the user that fails to login.
