No, what I said is correct, and is just one method of creating a VM from an
existing system that was installed directly to a hard drive. 

This is how I do it, and have done it for years. I've been using virtual
machines, and selling virtual machine systems to small businesses for some
time. 

And actually what Nils said is not actually describing a method of
transforming an existing system to a virtual machine, but more a way or
presenting a block device to a VM. Which is something completely different.
