System Hijacked By XBMC

I finally managed to exorcise the XBMC demon. 8>/
I do remember installing the software package and up till yesterday it has
behaved itself but for some reason known only to the digital demi-gods it
decided to take over everything. I got out of it and got rid of it by
using a guest login when I was able to get to a login screen.
I used the guest login to access the Software Center and instructed it to
banish the demonic package back to the digital realm from whence it was
spawned. The Software Center daemon politely requested the proper password
and upon its being typed in and the pressing of the enter key the ritual of
banishment was accomplished. 8>]
Unfortunately through all of this the operating system became corrupted
beyond my feeble efforts to repair. Perhaps this is what caused the
problem in the first place.
My solution was to use my computer to obtain a fresh copy of 12.04.3 to
replace the damaged 12.04.2
Installed side by side and now Bobs-Your-Uncle. Familial harmony has been
restored.
Thanks again to all who gave advice and/or sympathy.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled digital mayhem.
