no video sound

Have you installed the pavucontrol package yet? You need that, most 
likely. Why it is not installed by default is beyond me. It's a major 
oversight not to have it installed and ready for new users. :) Ric

p/s Install it and type pavucontrol on a command line or make it into an 
entry on your toolbar.
