Friends on Ubuntu 13.10

Gwibber has been replaced by Friends since 13.04. But on 13.10 I don't
see any way to just post a message to Twitter or Facebook? Anyone know
how? There are no menus, no buttons to click on, just a drag down and
release to update, which doesn't always seem to work. Why has Ubuntu
shipped with such a useless piece of software?
