daemontools setup

I have set up daemontools on a machine to a service should be able to 
start again if it dies.
The problem is that it started a lot of the same service all the time, 
seems to be that daemontools restart it though it is not dead, the 
machine slows down the course and becomes unusable after a while when 
all memory is spent to run the service / program started by deamontools.

But I did not do the 'symlink' and log part.

Grateful for advice.
