Ubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite

Liam, in another thread you mentioned that you had a Toshiba Satellite 
Pro.  Does it have Secure boot and EFI?  I am curious as I just had to 
return a Toshiba Satellite because I could not get Ubuntu to install and 
run on it.

It's to bad I couldn't as I was comfortable using it and for the money 
it seemed to be better than anything else I looked at.
