Kernel panic no init found after installing Saucy

Thanks Colin,
There were no errors. Also checked the installed partition with fsck
and it was clean.
On the bug report, someone suggested I use update-initramfs, but I can't
figure out how to do that booted from 13.04 (32 bit) on the 13.10 (64
bit) partition.
