There is certainly no harm in trying, but I doubt it will help.
Question: are you choosing the option to "try before installing" and
then running the installer, or are you trying to install directly from
the boot menu?
I have read about people having problems with the direct-install
method. Try booting to the desktop *first* and only *then* run the
installer.
Also, I recommend that you check that your machine's BIOS is updated &
current. That can cause problems as well.
