No. From the manpage:

   -data is the default, if no other flag is present and  the  file
    does not appear to be of one of the well known audio file types.

    If  neither -data nor -audio have been specified, wodim
    defaults to -audio for all filenames that end in .au
    or .wav and to -data for all other files.
