Hi all

Usually people ask a specific "How do I..." question, but I'd like to take
advantage of the power of the community and ask for a few opinions instead
- How would *you* combine between the analogue and digital worlds?

I am about to take on a complex social project and I'd like to document the
journey from my personal point of view.

I won't always have access to the Internet or time to just sit and start
pounding the keyboard, so I thought I'd write it by hand in a notebook and
scan it later.

I'd like your thoughts in regard of the best paper-pen combination so the
scanning comes out clear and legible.

I once scanned 80 grams yellow legal pad paper on which I wrote, on both
sides, using a 0.7 millimeter pen. Scanning one side revealed the contents
of the opposite side as a shadow - which made the text illegible...

So, I was wondering - is there a paper-pen combination that makes it easier
to scan it later on? Should I writhe on one side of the page, thus wasting
paper?
Is there a specific filter I could use to scan it better (in XSane, Simple
Scan or gScan2PDF)?

I have Ubuntu 12.04.3 with a Canon Lide 20 hooked to it via USB, with the
tree apps a fore mentioned installed.

Thanks!
Amichai.
