aptitude search -F "%p %t %v %V" vim
aptitude search -F "%p %t %v %V" ^vim$

apt-cache madison vim

apt-cache policy vim

(less obviously because you have to look at the name of the
"/var/lib/apt/lists/..._Packages" file associated with the vim
version)
apt-cache showpkg vim
