Dear Nils,

Thank you for all your effort. Following your advice, I did succeed to
compile the file with that Makefile / copy the .ko file into the right
folder / run modprobe as mentioned on that webpage and I want to report
that my computer HAS detected the USB to LAN because the blue bars which
show all the wireless connections have now turned into a white square with
a wire in it and it shows :-

Wired Network (0fe6 USB 2.0 10/100M Ethernet Adaptor)
Auto eth2 ( which I have renamed USB to Lan )

on the top and the wireless connections after that. After I entered the DNS
settings I am able to browse the web. Thank you.

Dear all,

One last query. I think I have to do :-

sudo modprobe dm9601

each time I restart my computer to detect the USB to Lan. Is that correct ?
Is there a way that I don't have to do this each time I restart my computer
?

Thank you,
Ashim.
