Not able to install Ubuntu 12.04.2 on Virtualbox 4.2.8 (Lenovo T530 running Windows 7 64-bit)

Hi,
I am new to Virtualbox and Linux and trying to install Ubuntu 12.04.2 (ubuntu-12.04.2-desktop-i386) on Virtualbox 4.2.8.

My System:

1.      Lenovo T530 with Intel Core i5 vPro Processor

2.      Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1 - 64-bit

After installation, I am getting the error-

I checked the forum and found 2 possible solutions:

1.      Setting the nomodeset parameter as described in http://askubuntu.com/questions/162075/my-computer-boots-to-a-black-screen-what-options-do-i-have-to-fix-it

2.      Check below

a.  sudo apt-get update

b.  sudo apt-get -d install --reinstall gdm

c.  sudo apt-get remove --purge gdm

d.  sudo apt-get install gdm

Bothe the options did not work for me. I have "Intel(r) HD Graphics 6000" Display Adapter.
