advice on Asus VivoBook S400CA-UH51 ubuntu install

I would check it before buying.

Make a USB stick with 12.04 and another one with 13.04 and find that model
on display at the store. Ask them to let you test it on the computer on
display before you buy.

There's a good chance that some will let you do that.
