Total Networking Failure after upgrade to 12.04LTS

Sure. I didn't have one handy. This happened mid afternoon on a Friday, and
I am not back until Monday.  Sounds reasonable. My plan b was to re-install
from a 12.04 CD if nothing else shakes out.  There is nothing so critical
on this system that a day or two won't upset things terribly. There is
secondary dns.
