Slow disk I/O - was Re: Seeking Help [Ubuntu Bug??]

I updated to 13.04 to try out a newer kernel and the same performance
problems occur.

Kernel I used: Linux Whisper-II 3.8.0-2-generic #6-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 25
22:05:58 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

I created a bug and referenced this e-mail list. I hope we can figure out
what is going on here.
