Screen Saver Leaves Panels Visible Why?

That is what I am running! See below:

jay at polar:~$ ps -ef|grep "xscreensaver"
jay      22712     1  0 Jan24 ?        00:00:06 xscreensaver -nosplash
jay      32358 17929  0 14:46 pts/0    00:00:00 grep xscreensaver
