Screen Saver Leaves Panels Visible Why?

Folks,

When I start the screen saver or when it starts by itself the top and left 
panels still show. How do I get the entire screen to be part of the screen saver?

This system is newly upgraded 12.04.1 LTS with Unity desktop from 10.04.4 LTS.

It did not perform this way on 10.04.4 LTS and does not leave anything showing 
on another system running 12.04.1 LTS
