Upgrade to 12.10 on x64

Yes, it happened to me, but I don't remember if it was for this
version. I had to remove flahsplugin-installer and reinstall it after the
upgrade completed.

Usually when the upgrade hangs a combination at the terminal nof 

sudo apt-get install -f

and

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

will complete the installation. If it tells you that "some packages
have been retained" also copying the retained packages and using 

sudo apt-get install "retained packages"

will also advance the upgrade, where "retained packages" is obviously
the actual names of the retained packages. 

Once a 
sudo apt-get update
sudo app-get upgrade

tells you that nothing else has to be installed, you can do 

sudo apt-get autoremove

to clean obsolete packages, restart and cross your fingers. 

Sorry anybody if this is not the right way and I will love to be
corrected on how to complete the upgrade.
