My understsanding is that the "firmware" drive files upload code to the
device (in our case WiFi hardware)... code which isn't what the Windows
driver expects to find. A simple reboot keeps the device powered up with
the code in memory. A full hard stop and restart starts it wich a clean
memory which Windows finds suitable.

Now you know... you should be all set.
