I finally received the below:

Err http://ftp.egr.msu.edu/pub/ubuntu/archive/ precise/universe sux all 1.0.1-6
  Connection failed
Failed to fetch
http://ftp.egr.msu.edu/pub/ubuntu/archive/pool/universe/s/sux/sux_1.0.1-6_all.deb
 Connection failed
E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with
--fix-missing?

Will report later with the results -- it's taking a VERY long time.
