When Im logged as root and I lock the screen with CTRL + ALT + L, I see a black screen, but when I move the mouse and hit any key, I get back to my desktop without being prompt for the root password. How can I make so when I lock the screen root password must be entered.

I realise that I had forgotten what the OP's problem was when I said
that I also have the problem. In fact the problem I am seeing is that
even if I ask for a lock in Brightness and Lock and then wait for the
screen to blank then I am not asked for a password to unlock the
screen. If I use Ctrl+Alt+L then I /am/ asked for pwd.
