Lock Screen Server 12.10

Hi,

Im running Ubuntu 12.10 Server.  When Im logged as root and I lock the screen with CTRL + ALT + L, I see a black screen, but when I move the mouse and hit any key, I get back to my desktop without being prompt for the root password.  How can I make so when I lock the screen root password must be entered.
