ok, I did that. It was not installed but I have been able to run java
from the command line.. I have a sudoku game installed that requires
java, and this is what I run ( before installing icedtea-7-plugin )

java -Xmx512m -jar /home/pbc/Downloads/hodoku.jar

if you like sodoku, look this one up:)
