I would say that the question is almost a typo.
There are, basically, for Linux, two versions of Java. On the one hand,
you have GPL, open source Java. That's OpenJDK and Iced Tea.
On the other hand, you have Oracle Java. That's Oracle JDK and Oracle JVM.
IcedTea is analogous to Oracle JVM
OpenJDK is analogous to Oracle JDK
For most anything, the GPL, open source "Java" is fine, which is what you
get from apt-get and is also easy to install.
