Computer is slowing down

Don't overlook problems with your hard drive. Read SMART to know if the
drive is developing bad sectors. It would also be interesting to know what
read speeds you get by benchmarking the drive with Disk Utility. It might be
dangerous to perform a write bench test, so don't do that.

Also, open the System Monitor app and see what processes are running. You
can sort the list by CPU and RAM usage. Does anything stand out?
