pdf files not visible on windows 7 desktop

Why not just save the document in Microsoft .doc format from LO?
Normally one cannot edit a pdf file so I am not sure what that
suggestion is about.

In that case there is something very odd about your Windows 7.  I
think you would be better asking about that on a Windows forum
however.
