Synaptic package manager is a GUI application and it's easier for a user that doesn't use the terminal. It is light, flexible and no harm to install it in your system. Easier to locate packages and faster than USC. (it has not all the fancy though).


I would recommend to use Synaptic if the user feels more safe with a GUI application.
