Subject: Have Dell Insiron 15 with BCM 4312 802.11b/ g LP-phy wireless
Have a dell inspiron 15 with a bcm 4312 lp-phy wireless.
I've followed info on several pages per mr. Google such as
http://askubuntu.com/questions/230556/why-wont-my-broadcom-bcm4312-lp-phy-work-with-the-sta-driver
but have gotten to the point where I'm basically just confused :(
There appears to be no hard wire switch for this wireless, but on the F2 key is a wireless symbol for the Dell, but I don't think it does squat with linux.
I tried the sudo modprobe -r b43 ssb wl
And got no wl found
When I type in iwconfig I get
Eth0 no wireless extensions
Lo no wireless extensions
That's it
I tried various installs and uninstalls of mcmwl modules.
I do know that I have the low power version of the bcm 4312 wireless card.
Anyway, not sure where to go next.
I am running Ubuntu 12.10
